Dec 31, 2015 The porch of this old Texas house will last a few more years, but I'd like to cover up the front part on either side of the steps - the surface is uneven with a large gaping hole in front, as well. It measures 18" from porch floor to ground. I'd like to keep it funky and cottage-y, but not cute!

Dec 31, 2015 You'd fill that space between the new wall and the existing porch with sand up to the bottom of the existing porch slab and then pour a new slab atop the new filled in part. Cement patch could smooth the surface of the porch floor, including hiding any crack where the old an new part of the porch meet.
